Injection molding process for PMMA:
PMMA is hygroscopic, dry handling before processing is necessary. Recommended drying conditions of 90 °C, 2 – 4 hours. The melting temperature of PMMA injection molding 240-270 °C , PMMA temperature is 35-70 °C , PMMA injection speed is moderate.
PMMA chemical and physical characteristics:
PMMA has good optical properties and resistance to climate change features. White light penetrating up to 92%.PMMA products with very low birefringence, especially for the production of DVD. PMMA has room temperature
creep properties. With the load increase, the growth of time, can lead to stress cracking phenomenon.PMMA has good impact properties.
What kind of steel used for core and cavity for PMMA injection molding mold:
If it is transparent color, we should consider 420SS (ASSAB S136(H),2083(ESR/H), LKM 420, SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH’s 2083(ESR/H)/2316, Finkl 420 VAR etc.
